Surprised to find almost no snow or ice on most of this hike. Between the peaks near North Hancock there was some but never enough for traction. Water in the streams seemed calm in its retreat from the higher elevations. Temps were warmer than expected and winds were dead calm for most of the afternoon. Managed to make it out without headlamp at 5:10. Nice to meet Grid finisher Doug Hunt and 4 other hikers on this perfect White Mountains day. |
