Comments
Comments: A pleasant morning walk, though I avoided taking the South Ridge to Rimrock b/c of NH hunting season, electing instead to do a shorter loop via the section of Skyland from just before Cliff's Bridge to Rimrock. That's a nice, under-used, section of trail. Coming up the cone via the Clark helped avoid the wind, though it was pretty breezy coming down the upper W. Ridge. I brought poles and light traction, but didn't use either -- only a little ice on the trails, easily avoided. But the higher, ledgy sections of the West Ridge, between the bridge and where you break completely into the open, do have some sections of wet rock. Not a problem today, but will ultimately require traction to surmount. Great views from the summit -- could see the whole range -- despite a somewhat cloudy day.
