Comments
Comments: It was a great day to get out. It was very special to talk with a veteran along the way and thank him for his service. I ran into KRobi and his wife along the trail, met SuzieQ (another teacher), and smoked some whipper snappers who were bragging about their speed on Pierce.

Below Gibb's Falls there were only trace amounts of snow in the woods. From above Gibb's and below the junction with the Mizpah Cut-Off there were some areas of ice and snow. Above the cut off there were larger sections of packed granular and ice, but on the descent a lot of it had melted. That being said, a lot of the nice sections of packed powder may now be icy due to run-off and melting and cold nighttime temps.

I bare-booted up to Eisenhower and wore microspikes on the descent from the junction by Pierce. i would highly recommend them now that snow may be turning to ice.
