Snow started to appear about 2800 foot elevation. Some ice on rocks on steeper portion of Stoney Brook, but easily avoided. At Carter-Moriah junction, snow depth increased to 1-2", with more crusty ice and icy ledges heading toward Moriah. We carried Microspikes but did not use them. Some hikers, depending on experience and comfort level may prefer to use light traction. Beautiful day with plenty of sunshine, mild temps and breezes to hike Moriah with Schorman, Lady Di and Bill Cronin. |
