Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Tri-pawed managed well as she's getting stronger all the time - just needed a bit of help on a couple of small ledges. Giant foster lab boy (125) saw his first snow and loved it. He did well with his first hike at 13 miles, acted friendly to everyone on the trail, walked behind well, but does seem a bit worn out tonight (not moving!). Willow lost her good collar with ID in the woods.

Comments
Comments: Fine day in the mountains with friends. A bit cloudy and overcast with some sun spots and dramatic weather changes. Views fabulous from Z Cliff and Guyot even though Presidential summits under cloud cover and not visible. New snow looks like winter, but doesn't cause much difficulty on the trail. Barebooted up to the hut without a problem but wore microspikes from the hut to Guyot and back to help with a little icy slush stuck to the rocks. Took the short spur down to the pond between Zealand Cliffs and Zealand and found it frozen but not certain if safe for the dogs so kept them away. Saw a few folks and a couple of bunches of scouts who'd been at the hut overnight and were blearily headed down. Guyot worth the trek over as no views from Zealand, even though that meant coming out in the dark with headlamps. Kestrel T=28 W=15 WC=15
