Comments
Comments: Dry trail with no snow at the bottom, about a dusting starting a mile in, increasing to a compact 6-8" by the top. Some wet snow and small patches of crusty ice in between but traction not needed most of the way up. Put micros on at the junction - there was much less ice and more snow than we expect on the steeps to the summit but traction they definitely helped. We kept them on until about a mile below the junction since the compact snow was a bit slippery. Things melted a bit by the afternoon and we had some slush before reaching the leaves again. Had some good views at the summit and less wind than forecasted, though a bit chilly - definitely looked and felt wintry up top! Lots of other happy hikers enjoying the day. Great day out with Ali, Nikki, Adam, Hannah and Chloe.
