Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The many water crossings were not challenging as the water levels were low. No ice on the rocks today but that may not be the case later this week. So be cautious.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition except for a stretch on the Cedar Brook trail that had been washed out. In that section there is considerable mud. Even so, there are rocks, branches, and some high spots to facilitate passage. There is one damaged bog bridge on the Cedar Brook trail.

Comments
Comments: The Hancock Loop hike is good for these short November days. I was able to hike all the way to Hancock and then over to South Hancock without the use of traction. I decided to use microspikes for the steep descent down South Hancock as a safety precaution. I did follow one hiker who descended without traction and he only had minor slides. There is only a thin layer of compacted snow at this time. Lots of hikers out on this route today. Met Val, Per, a couple from Braintree MA,and a four year old boy named Kip who was a member of an overnight trip.
