a lot of blowdowns, particularly on Old Paugus Tr. Big Rock Trail from north end down to river was very obscure - almost no way to see it. Also, Gordon Path not well-marked (other than the sign at 113A) - I took the wrong fork after the pasture and ended up on snow machine trails back to the field near Ferncroft |

One semi-scary one greeted me at P-way a long way from his owners... but, lots of chilly water available everywhere - I refilled several times!!! |

Excellent big loop(s) with a lot of nice outlooks now that the leaves are gone. I was a bit under-dressed in sneakers but that only mattered near the summit of Passaconaway where there were wintry conditions. Some of the rocks were quite slippery. Fun to look back to Passaconaway from Paugus at the end of the day!!! Did not bushwhack to actual Paugus summit this time. Fun day out there!!! |
