Comments
Comments: Trails in very good shape. Stayed cold enough so that mud was not an issue (nice to have on new section on Gale River Tr.). Some ice floes on Gale River and Garfield Ridge Trails easily handled. Ice floes on lower part of Twinway were a little more difficult. I opted for microsikes on the way down reversing the strategy to hit more ice and less rock. A little grinding on rock but not bad with thoughtful foot placement. North Twin Spur had most snow; but only 1-3" max. Two hikers met in Twins area said crossing on North Twin Tr. wasn't difficult today. Emerel continued on to West Bond (see his report for those trails). No issues on Frost Tr. and a quick hike out as lots of the earlier ice had melted or softened.
