| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The tower is closed to the public. This is very disappointing for Smarts as it is a wooded summit with 360 views from the tower. It should reopen, but I don't know when. |

| Comments: |
This was a good morning hike to Smarts. There is a lot of running water and very slippery rock on the ranger trail. The AT is in very good shape here. The Lambert ridge tr. is a beautiful section of the AT with lots of bumps and rocky openings. My route of ascending Ranger and descending Lambert was good both because of the views on Lambert and the slippery surface on Ranger. No snow or ice right now. |
