| Water Crossing Notes: |
The to Gale River crossings were easy but not without getting wet feet. Both crossings were about calf deep but the normal crossing rocks were all under water. I didn't see any easier crossings nearby. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Franconia Brook and Twin Brook trails had dozens of blowdowns. There was lots of mud on all trails above 3000 ft. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Great trails for dogs. No dangerous sections and lots of water. |
|
| Bugs: |
I saw some buzzing about but none bothred me. |

| Comments: |
Great day to explore some trails not often encountered in a day hike. The Franconia Brook/Twin Brook loop from Garfield Ridge turned a pedestrian Galehead hike into an epic 15+ mile journey. |
