Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All minor drainages running across the trail were flowing, necessitating rock hops. The main crossing of the Dry River above Dry River Falls was not easily dispatched, as the water rose as we climbed, and the rain continued. Got across and to the shelter for the night.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Dry River Trail generally good, considering its reopened status. Many step over blowdowns along the trail, expected in a wilderness area. The reroutes for the washed away sections of trail are fairly easy to follow, but generally steep and VERY muddy. I have no doubt that they'll turn into an eroded mess sooner than later. Brand new signage in a couple of spots too.

Comments
Comments: Days 1 and 2 of a 4 day Dry River backpack. Rain and drizzle on our drive up, turned into a mostly steady rain, with a few pockets of dryness, and more than a few downpours. Very wet conditions persisted, the reroutes being the most tricky to navigate. A sketchy crossing of the Dry River was made, and that rather sealed our fate for day 2. Even with rain gear, most of the clothing we were wearing, and our footwear, was soaked. Day 2 was spent drying out, as it rained on and off throughout the day Wednesday (a big downpour and thunderstorm Wednesday AM), and the river was next to impassable.
