Comments
Comments: We got a later start on this one, and so ultimately we decided against continuing up the ridge to Lafayette as planned, but we still had a great fall trip to Liberty and Flume. The clouds were slowly parting all day, and by the time we returned to Liberty most all summits were fully in the clear and it was a gorgeous afternoon. There is still some nice orange color down in the Lincoln Brook Valley, but things look to be slightly past peak. Still quite nice though, and lots of yellow still remains. Lots of leaves on the ground on the trails, so it will be all over pretty soon though. The start of the herd path to the Liberty Springs Trail off the bike path wasn't very obvious with all of the leaf cover (plus none of us had done it in that direction without snow on the ground), but we cut in and soon intersected it. No issues following it downhill in the afternoon. Good to see a couple familiar faces out there on the trails today.
