Comments
Comments: Hiked this counter clockwise and spent 2 nights at pre-established sites.

Carrigian notch trail was very pleasant and had incredible color. It was surreal seeing completely dry significant brook bed. I assume the brook was re-routed during the hurricanes a few years ago but perhaps they hold some water when it is wetter. We explored around them for a while much to our pleasure.

Desolation trail was well worth the effort but incredibly wet and slippery in the steeps despite drought conditions. I would not want to hike down this on a wet day.

The well at the cabin site just below the summit was completely dry and smelled heavily of sulfur. There was no reliable water for miles below the summit down either trail; plan accordingly.

Lots of people out this weekend, even on desolation. Met some great people and friendly dogs so the lack of desolation ok.
