Comments
Comments: Great day! Below treeline on Caps Ridge and Jewell the trails alternated between 3-4' deep fairly stable monorail and then wet rocks; tough going with wet snow filling the boots! Above treeline was much easier transit - a few solid snowfields left up there!!! I carried but didn't use snowshoes - most steps were kicked-in and held, but, lots of melt. Hadn't seen the avalanche area below Gem Pool since winter - it is MUCH more dramatic without the snow. Glad the Summit Building was open as well as the snack bar!!! Overcast day but still got sunburned! Hi to J & J!
