	Date of Hike:	Sunday, September 7, 2014

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	about 15 cars at the end of haystack road...room for a few more...

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	3 river crossings, easy rock hopping with poles...water not to high...numerous muddy stream crossings...

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	lots of blowdowns especially at the beginning...trail rather confusing--one blaze the whole 8.6 miles...only one sign at river crossing...had backtracke a number of times...ran into a woman who began north twin trail last week and ended up getting lost in the woods...

	Dog-Related Notes:	i might not take a dog up this trail as it is very rocky--small, medium and large rocks, some round some sharp...steep...

	Bugs:	september blessing--few bugs!

	Lost and Found:	lost track of time and found myself swooning over the views...


	Comments:	met brian from portland who was doing his 48's...we watched two gliders enjoying the wind currents above just as two through hikers and their dog copper stopped to admire the scene...met another guy who was doing the 48's...it was his 46th, mine too! false summit of sorts...gorgeous view from a cairn topped boulder...a few hundred feet further is the true summit--unmarked except for a cairn--and beyond that another spectacular view...
