 | Comments: |
15mile day. started up mt. kinsman trail at 8:30a/finished at 5:30p. summit views were nice, but there was an undercast that obscured distant summits. descended via the mt. kinsman ridge trail. encounter about a dozen thru hikers. the section that follows the Eliza brook is real pretty with many places to sit in a pool on a hot day. the last 3-4 miles down to rte 112 are tough. ups and downs, roots and rocks and muddy bogs. not much exposure or views, but if you are looking to avoid the crowds and want a challenging hike this section of the AT has it all. |
