The trail is in good conditions, mostly dry, but some muddy spots and water running on trail in one area. I carried snowshoes, but didn't need them, and I would say from this point forward on this trail no snowshoes are required...only light traction.
The only snow was about 1/2 mile before summit of North Tripyramdis, and then you had the monrail all the way (mostly) to Middle Tripyramid, but only about 1 foot of snow left, and very hard packed. The only traction that would required is the steep icy section coming down, but I was able to make it with no traction, but care was required..so that is why I would recommend microspikes.
It was a great hiking day, no views but very comfortable hiking weather. |
