The Mt. Tremont Trail is one of my adopted trails. On 13-May I did some routine maintenance (brushing, clearing blowdowns, moving limbs/debris off the trail, etc). As of 13-May, the trail was in pretty good shape. HOWEVER, please be advised that you will encounter many large blowdowns (particularly in the first 1.5 miles of the trail). ALL of these blowdowns have been limbed and "processed" in such as way that hikers can easily negotiate them without having to go off-trail. I'm hopeful that a Forest Service crew with chainsaws can get out there sometime this year to completely remove those that are especially large. You have my apologies for any inconvenience, but I think you'll find the blowdowns pretty easy to negotiate. For most of them, you barely need to break stride to pass over them.
