Zealand Trail could use some brushing by the pond areas. Nice bridges. |

We started at 6:30am and packed lightly. We wanted to get up and down by 1pm since the girls had karate in the late afternoon. The temperatures were comfortable during the first hour, but by the time we got to the hut (7:45), the day was beginning to heat up.
We made it to Zealand before the heat rose too unbearably. The heat was nasty as we headed down..we're glad we started early or we would have wilted before reaching the summit. Ran into Gail Smith by Zeacliff -- it was very nice to speak with her.
We took a break by the falls before heading back to our car. Made it to the car by 12:30 and got to karate on time.
Congrats Alex -- six more Trailwrights peaks to go.
