| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Capt Ridge Trailhead overflowed up and down sides of J Notch Road on my arrival at 2 pm; only three cars remaining on my return about 9 pm. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
No worries |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
All in great shape, as appeared the AMC crew had been through recently with their axes for removal of blow downs. All trails fairly well brushed, and water bars on Caps Ridge recently cleaned. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Met a couple of dogs on their way down on lower Caps Ridge Trail, which is a tough trail for dogs higher up. |
|
| Bugs: |
A few black flies and a few mosquitoes, but not too bad, especially considering that there no breeze. |

| Comments: |
My route across two sections of The Link from Caps Ridge, then up the upper Castle Ravine headwall to Edmands Col, then back across the Cornice Trail to finish on Caps Ridge, provided me a bunch of redlining. Gorgeous sunset on the way down Caps Ridge, after having summit to myself. I was really surprised to see two groups of two coming the opposite direction on The Link from Castellated Ridge, and from Castle Ravine, respectively. Other than the dozens that I met coming down Caps Ridge on my way up, only saw five others passing through Edmands on their way from Jefferson to the Randolph Path. I should have carried only one water bottle, as the springs just below Edmands were flowing well. Another solo, over 60, and pm grid peak for those three lists. |
