Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I find howker ridge trail to have plenty of blazes. I llike the fact it is not over blazed. In general, trails all over the whiles are so well signed and maintained--many thanks to the crews!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Carried plenty of water for sasha up howker ridge, resupplied at hut, none on airli e but enty on valley way and randolph path
Bugs
Bugs: I would have turned back at the third howk but was counting on getting more water at the hut. They were ferocious black flies making only the first howk a pleasant stop.

Comments
Comments: Inliked the solitude of howker ridge. Loved the views of king ravine from airline. Scaur was recommended by a man with a hut pack---gorgeous! Ferny and mossy and just like he said--a fairy dwelling trail. Lower down valley way and randolph were good fast, soft trail routes to the car with water crossings for the dog.
