Appalachia was pleasantly full but found I could head in park on dirt on west side of lot. No $3 fee here I told confused hiker looking for pay envelopes! |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
rock hop-able and the Memorial Bridge is beautiful and helpful! |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
RMC trail tenders do the best work! No blowdowns, water bars are clear, more bog bridges, even Great Gully appeared to have been clipped no long ago. Recent clipping of hobblebush on Shortline and King Ravine. One blowdown just above Crag Camp on Spur Trail but path around it is okay |

Love Great Gully! Really to think I have been up King's Ravine so many times and missed this jewel. Race cars practing on the Mt Wash auto road were roaring loud! While descending Adam's summit cone I was passed by two runners that were really flying, the gal had wings on her feet. I have never seen anyone ever run downhill over rocks like that ever, I was totally impressed. Crag Camp is beautiful and I think I would like to stay there someday (can't say that about any other huts I can think of...) Water falls, cliffs, RMC has it all. Finally got all the pieces of Cliffway and Ladderback, lovely place. Trails weren't as wet as I feared they might be, glad I waited until 9 am to start my day. |
