Occasional black flies/mosquitoes/deer fly, but not an issue if moving, and not too bad if idle. |

Trail was mostly dry with minor mud in the usual areas. Not quite as busy today as other Sundays. The Waterville area was a great choice to hike, as it was one of the few places in the Whites you could hike bottom to top without hearing the constant hum of Harleys. |
