Up at the crack of dawn to peak on Mt. Washington before the first of the runners in the annual road race gets there! Made good time to the hut so took in Monroe before setting out for the top. Get there about 9.55am and the first runner was in just a few seconds before 10. My runner (Fergus) got in at 10.15 so we were on our way down at 10.35! We must have met at least 100 hikers coming up the Ammo as we were going down...unreal! Unfortunately Mt. Washington was completely cloud covered as the runners came up with limited visibility, a cold damp wind and low temps. But...it was worth it.
