Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We hiked with Baron, the intrepid Cattle Dog, and encountered a slew of other hiking dogs. No crossing or footing issues for the dogs on these trails with good footing and moderate, steady grades throughout. Baron totally enjoyed all the well deserved attention he received from his many admirers.
Bugs
Bugs: The good thing about drizzle and wind is that the bugs don't like it anymore than we do.

Comments
Comments: Edmands/Crawford made for a safer trip in wet, windy weather. We were joined on this hike by Joshua and Baron and a newcomer to the 48's, Justin, who finished his 2nd and 3rd peaks on this hike. We started the day in the clouds, made it to Monroe through strong winds above tree line, and had just started the descent when the wind died down and the clouds started breaking up and treating us to views. You never appreciate a view more than when you work for it, especially when you don't expect it! We decided to head up to Ike before descending back down on Edmands. No more views on this peak and so we did a quick turn around to get back below tree line. Sunday should be the perfect day for these two peaks, but, if not, the alpine gardens on Monroe are in full bloom and worth the trip.
