| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Good parking lot. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
We needed our Tevas for the one crossing very early into the hike, but people of average height (or taller) should be able to rock hop. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Going up, there were many blowdowns, on the way back several had been removed! Thanks for your work! |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Although I've read one report of a dog who enjoyed her trip, I would be nervous bringing one here (sharp rocks, etc). If you do, BRING WATER! |
| Bugs: |
Some black flies, but I got most of them before they got me! |

I seriously overestimated this one! We had planned to do a loop, but it took me so long on some of the castles that by 4 PM we were not even to the summit yet. Much as I hated to ruin Prema's fun, I turned us around and we got back to the car at dark. Would like to try this again as a loop of Caps Ridge and the Link (despite its bad rep). What we did see and do was great, the weather was great, good visibility, bugs not too bad. Just a joke - you know those signs at amusement parks that say you must be a certain height to go on a ride? Maybe we could have one for this! Just kidding! |
