lovely day to get above treeline. crawford path in decent enough shape but heavily eroded in areas. mostly dry footbed. some flowers showing around pierce. i was hoping for flowers towards eisenhower and was greeted with a lovely show along the ridge. couple of minor muddy spots. we were glad for some clouds as the air was still and the temps were warm..we enjoyed whatever breezes that were to be found. nice carpet of flowers on the summit plateau, view were very good with great clarity below the cloud layer. lots of hut traffic and a few thru hikers about. thanks Irene for a great day out |
