Comments
Comments: I was glad that Doug Hunt suggested to join him on this hike. It was a stellar day. The trail was dry and the first patches of snow started to show up on the long traverse. A vastimprovement over Doug's hike a week earlier. What monorail remained was easily bypassed on this portion. While we carried our snowshoes we never needed them as the monorail, that started after the long traverse, was well consolitated and allowed us to bareboot all the way to the summit and back without postholing. Nevertheless, once the weather gets warmer I would not want to be without snowshoes, as the snowdepth is still considerable up higher, especially from Signal Ridge to the summit. We had the mountain to ourselves today. The views to all neighboring peaks were spectacular today.
