Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two old step over blowdowns and one new one too big for me to remove. I took out a bunch of spruce bendovers up high mostly, but this trail had very little compared to others I've been on.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The mighty tough little dog found an easy trail, great views, tasty jerky and treats, and a nice dog Coop to play with today, and another he wanted to meet. He's a very happy dog.

Comments
Comments: Another great day to be on the trails and away from the computers. I packed for a winter like hike expecting lots of unpacked snow high for snowshoing. The lower part of the trail as expected was dry and nice, with some broken debris. The potentially nasty ledges when icy section was wet but no ice despite subfreezing temps last night, and so pretty easy. Nearing Osceola a monorail of sorts was present with some postholes, but it was firm enough to bareboot. Between the peaks there was a monorail of varying depths and occasional bare areas, with some postholes. It too was firm enough to bareboot with little additional postholing. E. Osceola was nice for a snack break since it provided a nice windbreak. Osceola was windy, but the warm sun mitigated it. A nice couple that camped out on Tripoli Rd. preceded me, and I ran into three more happy hikers on the way down. Great views in the crisp dry air. This was one of those days when I felt like we could hike forever without breaking a sweat or getting tired. Wind Rivers mountain air.
