We had the pleasure of hiking with Barron, the most well behaved, level headed Cattle Dog imaginable. Met a few other dogs along the way. Perfect hike for a dog! |

We chose this hike in order to have a range of interesting diversion in the event we would have no views. The first 2-5 miles were like a nature walk through a wild life preserve, weaving over wooden bridges past beaver ponds and to the falls and hut. A short, moderately steep hike landed us at Zeacliff with a fairly level walk from there to the summit. We followed the advice of a previous report on Zealand and wore light boots and were glad we did. Lighter footwear makes short work of the 11 mostly easy miles. A lot of water on this trail, but it is all avoidable by using the well placed rocks as stepping stones. The sun came out and we were treated to spectacular views at Zeacliff. |
