Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: On Saturday, the two crossings of the gushing Gale River was a tactical game of "How wet will we get". On the way out, it was rock hopping. A Jeckyl and Hyde experience.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The rerouted trail section was very muddy, but obviously a work in progress. Great work on stone/rock placement, especially on the upper part of the trail.

Comments
Comments: A group of 14 people of various ages backpacked up to the hut for an AMC Berkshire Chapter Family event. 90% chance of rain became 100% chance of sunshine. The water crossings were not difficult at all on Sunday, but beware after a major storm or melting of the monorails from above! :) We only needed traction going up to South Twin as there were sections of ice that were not negotiable to us. We did see others go bare boot, however. Thanks again to JD, our Hut master.
