Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bog Brook trail has 8 major crossings. The third one (Wildcat River) is dangerous due to slippery, submerged rocks. This can be by-passed by taking the extension of Carter Notch Rd. But I had not issues. There is extensive flooding right at the end of the Bog Brook trail. Follow orange tape for an easy by-pass.

Comments
Comments: I bushwhacked Black from near the junction of Bog Brook and Wildriver trails. Great open woods. The summit area is very cool with interesting views. The true summit is the top of a large boulder. I found an antler, which I hung at the highpoint.

For the return I shot a little further north, hitting the Wild River Trail between Rainbow and Bog Brook junctions. Great going this way too.
