Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Small brook near the bottom of the Willey Range trail was easily crossed on rocks some were slightly under water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Sections of severe erosion on the Willey Range trail both below and above the log stairs. Ad hoc side paths around some of these areas however these are causing further erosion problems in some cases. This is a very steep trail with some portions with good erosion control measures.

Comments
Comments: All surfaces were wet today due to the daily rains. There is no snow or ice on these trails. Surprisingly I didn't find the surfaces to be too slippery despite the steep grades and wetness. As noted in the White Mountain Guide, be prepared for a steep and rough climb up the south slope of Mt Willey. Otherwise approach Mt Willey from Mt Field.
Many hikers out either climbing to Mt Willey or hiking to Ethan Pond. Painted Trillium and Hobblebush along these trails. Limited views due to the clouds.
