Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: no problem
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: some blowdowns on section between Tom and Field, but easy to step over; one big blowdown section has not been cleared and instead a new trail has been created and the old one closed off (as I have not been on this trail for a while, I am unsure how new this small re-route is)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: a few dogs on trail up to Avalon; one had to be carried as he was way too small to be able to navigate those rocks
Bugs
Bugs: n/a
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: one yellow 'joe'-t-shirt hanging approx. .1mi AFTER Avalon spur trail when ascending avalon trail. As I met hikers higher up closer to trail junction near Field, I left shirt there in case it was from one of them

Comments
Comments: except for Avalon trail, trails not a problem; did not use any traction until I hit Avalon trail on descend; still ice and even snow left on the Ridge but one can safely walk next to it or slowly on it; for about 15min descending steep section of Avalon I put on spikes as they made the descend so much easier due to amount of ice left on trail and difficulty navigating around; it was also less slippery walking with the spikes on the ice than it was to walk on the wet, mossy rocks. Quite a few families and even kids-only groups on this trail; a lot of slipping and sliding happening as most were wearing inadequate footwear; made me nervous; overall: very good morning hike with views getting better by the minute; full views by the time I reached Willey
