Gale River Tr. was completely snow and ice free, but somewhat muddy. Garfield Ridge Trail had several patches of ice, some of them tricky, but I kept the spikes in my pack and watched my step. Frost Trail had a few ice patches, but otherwise it was mostly snow/ice free. It was rainy and socked-in, so I figured I wouldn't be missing much if I hiked Galehead.
