Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: What are usually minor streamlets were a little more today but rock hoppable with care.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One significant blowdown on the Hale Brook trail. Several more on the Bondcliff trail. Bondcliff trail at around 2000 feet needs some drainage work as a river has briefly diverted down the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My dogs, Jack and Andy, did well and had a great time. But this is a trip for only very fit and experienced trail dogs.

Comments
Comments: The day started out with blue sky and a perfect temperature. By Mt. Zealand it began to snow flurry and once on the Bonds the wind was driving horizontal sleet. Then on the descent it began to rain lightly which continued most of the walk out. Regarding snow, right now any trail with significant southern exposure is mostly clear. But north facing trails have snow depth and/or monorail from moderate to more substantial. The section from Zealand to Guyot in fact still has some impressive monorail two feet high in sections. Despite this we never opted for traction but bare-booted all day. It was faster and more efficient to step to the side or travel with care in these sections then to be fussing with gear. Won't be surprised if some of that snow hangs on until June unless we get some warm weather in the next week. A great day on the trail. (387/576)
