This was a quick hike up and down on a gorgeous day. Slick rock was my biggest issue, and I took a few minor falls on the way down. A significant amount of the trail is rock with spring melt water trickling down it. Some areas with unstable monrail and post-holing still slowed us down. Several tricky icy spots. Our spikes were on and off after approx 2,500 feet elevation.
All and all, a beautiful hike on gorgeous day with pristine views of the Presidentials making me wish I was on that ridge-line. |
