| Comments: |
put on microspikes about half-way between the 'vista'-point and the 'left curve' that eventually leads to the trail juncture on the ridge. Along the ridge the spikes were not needed as hardly any ice/snow was left. Ice was hard and the descend was tricky--the spikes could not provide good traction at all times. As long as I was careful and descended slower than anticipated, I was fine. While crampons would have been great at moments, overall they would not have been of much use. |
