| Comments: |
Glencliff trail starts dry. next a little patchy ice, becoming ice. it was fairly soft, but i wouldn't want to hike it without some kind of traction. sign at the junction of the carriage rd and glencliff trail is down; sign for the south summit is still there. carriage rd is snowcovered from the junction to treeline; soft crumbly slushy. bare rock above treeline. put on snowshoes to keep from postholing down the carrage rd. next the carriage rd was running water, but dried out after a bit. lovely gentle descent. hurricane trail had some badly erroded areas, flooded areas and more ice.
beautiful day to celebrate Wayne's birthday! thanks wayne and becky for another great day |
