Comments
Comments: Thought it would be alright to head up to the Kinsmans...not to be today though. So about a mile up Fishin Jimmy (so a mile past the hut) you come to some very slick ice waterfalls. These are also the trail. Got past the first OK but there were more to follow. Felt like this wasn't the day to go down those with the pup, he doesn't have spikes on his paws. So regrouped at the Kinsman shelter and decided on the ridge trail to lonesome lake trail and call it a day. Ridge trail was mostly in good shape but there were some significant pockets of snow and several other icy steeps to come down. Literally had to almost lower the dog down one of them.
Unless you have micro spikes or better I would wait till those suckers melt!
