Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings rock hoppable. The largest one required a little more care, but between the rocks and logs, only the soles of my shoes got wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of large blow downs together above the largest crossing. Looks like some of the smaller limbs have been removed, and an attempt had been made on the two larger trunks. Easy enough to crawl over, though.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw three dogs, all seemed to be having a good time!
Bugs
Bugs: Saw one large fly buzzing around. An omen of what is to come.

Comments
Comments: Lower portion of trail definitely in spring mode, with water running down the trail and the usual soggy spots. Trilliums are up, but not blooming yet, and there are patches of trout lilies that are blooming. Ice patches started appearing once in the spruce section, about 1 mile or so from the tentsite. Enough rocks are showing so that this section can be rock hopped, but some might be more comfortable with light traction. Traction definitely useful descending this section. About .5 miles from the tentiste, the monorail becomes apparent and snow depth increases right up to the ridge. The easier walking is above the tentsite and all the way to the summit. The rocky section before the summit and at the summit is mostly bare of snow - just a few inches of recent snow. Beautiful bluebird day for a quick trip up to Liberty and back.
