Comments
Comments: a bit of everything today.. weather (pouring rain last night) led us here over Isolation and we were comfortable with the choice. gate locked, for the most part the road was drained off though there are some muddy spots and some erosion that will need to be dealt with. We found conditions similar to previous poster with spotty snowpack and mono rail to the water crossings. Heading towards the long switchback snow depths increased quickly and we put snowshoes on at the corner and left them on all the way back. Judging by the amazing amount of deep postholes we were quite comfortable with this footwear..Wow! Track plenty wide and the floatation and traction worked perfect.. Snow had softened a bit by afternoon and managed a few snowshoe postholes ourselves but it was a pretty fun descent..just enough slipping and sliding..excellent!!!Trail should be in pretty good shape after 4 sets of shoes though for sure recommend snowshoes un less things freeze up.. Lots of snow in places. All kinds of weather from bright sun, some chilly wind. several rain showers, sleet, and a fairly serious snow squall from signal ridge to the summit and back. It was all good and we all felt we earned this peak. Thanks Valerie, Ali, and Sue for the company. great day out!!!
