Saw nobody on the hiking trail/ski trails. Excellent loop!!! Snow/monorail starts around the second water crossing/outlook about halfway up. Snowshoes not necessary tho I was happy for microspikes to ascend. The summit ridge had some bare rocks so I took of the spikes for that (summit loop). Sosman had a less stable monorail - I slipped off it a few times even with the spikes on.
Pretty ice starting to melt off the summit trees mid-afternoon; ice crashing off the communications tower near the ski area in the wind - I was careful to be up-wind of the tower so I didn't get hit. Ski trails (middle ones) had excellent coverage all the way to the base tho I did need to jump a couple bare spots near the base. Awesome spring conditions!!!! :) |
