Comments
Comments: Dry trail to start then plenty of mud for a ways - monorail started right where the trail enters the evergreens (micros went on here and came off in the same spot on the way down), and was MUCH better than what we'd seen on Cabot in the morning - the sun doesn't have a chance to soften it up except for a few tiny patches. Micros were the perfect traction choice - the ice bulges just before and around the spring were a bit tricky but soft enough were micros had great grip. Probably 2+ feet on the ridge but monorail still easily traversed, though it had softened in the more open spots on the ridge. Few snow showers during the hike but no significant accumulation to mention. For the second time today we didn't see a soul the entire hike. Great day out with Hannah and Ali.
