Comments
Comments: This was pretty much the last possible day to skin all the way from Pinkham to Hermit Lake, and that was done with some rock skinning in the morning. Some fresh snow in the bowl, but the avalanche danger was only moderate, with many aspects at low. The East Snowfields had looked good from 16 on the way in, and we decided to summit. Crampons used for ascending Right Gully, the exit of which was a sketchy bushwhack, slabbing on a 40 degree slope. Skis back on, we skinned up snowfields, hoping to get close to the summit. Rock hopping in ski boots isn't that fun, but that's what we had most of the way above the snowfields. Summited with bright sun, and light winds. Worked our way down to the top of the East Snowfields, lunched, then skied down to link up with the top of the ravine. Great turns in the fresh and corn alike. Decided to drop into the Chute, the traverse above the headwall was airy indeed. Good turns in the Chute and down into the bowl. Hiked back to Hermit Lake, then skied down about 2/3 of the way on the Sherburne, where there was more grass than snow, cut over and hiked down. Jake managed to ski down to the lot... but he doesn't care about his skis. Great day, and another sunburn!

Blog post tomorrow, now, sleep.
