| Water Crossing Notes: |
Several bridges got me up, but were washed away or collapsed on return. The major crossing after the shelter is impassable. About one hundred yards upstream there is a large solid log that will get you across. On return I waded several of the crossings in maybe eight inches of water. Levels rising throughout the day. With tonight's rain they may be unpassable for a while. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
The first mile or so of this trail is nasty. Someone apparently brings their dog here daily for a walk and use of the public litter box. |

A long second hike for the day, but well worth it. The views from Shelburne Moriah are impressive. The panorama starts in Evans Notch and continues around to the Mahoosucs. I spent far too long looking and really cramped the available daylight. A great day not working! |
