Comments
Comments: Great early afternoon hike with my wife Marlene as she was a real trooper as this was her first hike since last fall and better yet it was her first 4,000 footer ever! The trail was well packed and initially I brought our snowshoes but ended up putting them back in the car after seeing first hand that the trail was well traveled and packed down. My wife used micro-spikes the whole way and I bare-booted to the summit then used my Grivel 6 point crampons on the descend that worked just fabulous.

The sun was in the clouds and there was a pretty decent wind, however the visibility of the surrounding peaks from the summit were still spectacular. The return to the parking lot was slippery and some sections of both trails are steep and I would recommend crampons over micro-spikes for better traction and control for descending. Made it back to the parking lot around 7 pm without any problems.
