| Comments: |
Zealand Road is plowed to the Bethlehem Water Works. The road surface varies from mud to frozen slush. Either microspikes or snowshoes with traction worked well today as the surface was generally firm. The winds had filled in the snowshoe track in exposed areas. The sign for the Zealand Mountain spur on the Twinway was mostly under the snow but enough showed to be of use. The steeps on the Twinway just uphill of the Zeacliff Pond spur were slippery due to a frozen layer just below the mushy snow surface.
The Zealand Falls hut is open with a caretaker. Great views from many spots on Zealand Ridge as well as Zeacliff. |
