Nice sunny hike, steep and quick. I got a late start, but was first up via Hi-Cannon. Trail was certainly melting in the warm, warm temps (40 at summit), but there's 3-4 feet of snow still in places. I did well in snowshoes on the way up and crampons on the way down. There are some narrow bits where one feels better in crampons. Quite a few postholes on the trail, sorry to say I added a couple. Still it was difficult to choose to snowshoes on the descent when it's so steep and at times ledge-y. |
